The Grand Opening of CrossFit Social City was by far and away one of the most exciting and nerve racking times of my professional career. Taking the leap of faith to affiliate and invest money into a new space that really reflected my vision and business was a long time coming….but…it was also just down right terrifying. There were plenty of moments that I had self doubt and felt scared at doubling our space, creating a unique training environment for our members all which increased overhead. In moments of doubt, I would hear advice from the outside saying “You gotta spend money to make money” “no risk no reward”… none of these tidbits really made me feel any better or put me in a better head space. As the case with most unsolicited advice. Then there were the moments of self doubt….”Can I do this?” “Will people really think this is cool like I do?” “What if people hate the new location” “What if we don’t get any new members” “Will I make enough to cover the bills and make a living” “What if I fail?”.
Then I had an epiphany.
This is what my members, my clients and my friends say to themselves when they first start out.
They take a risk to better their situation by joining the gym.
They may be scared.
Full of self doubt.
Afraid that their investment won’t pay off.
Scared they will fail and look like a fool to others.
Hearing that voice in their head that tells them…
“You can’t do this.”
“You can’t change”
“You are not ready for this”
It was in this thought I drew an immense amount of courage and strength. I believe in every single member of CrossFit Social City whole heartedly. I believe that any change you desire for yourself is possible. That you are powerful beyond measure to make all of your dreams and goals a reality. That you can overcome any obstacle, say goodbye to self defeat and start a new chapter with an army of of other members who have stood by you, sweated with you, encouraged you and are now your fitness family. In order to lead this team and to create an environment where members could reach their full potential and goals it all starts with my attitude. I just wanted to take a moment to say THANK YOU to all of our members. You are a great source strength for me everyday and you are my family. Just wanted to share my #MondayMotivation with y’all.
